Authorities Urge Residents to Receive Emergency Updates

| October 18, 2012 | 0 Comments

Fire officials urge residents to register their contact information with AlertOC, the regional mass notification system. In an emergency, AlertOC is a critical link for residents to immediately learn if action such as evacuation is required.

All Laguna Beach home phone numbers are already preregistered but citizens can add cell and work phones, email addresses, and TDD/TTY devices to the system by logging into www.AlertOC.com.

The police department is also accepting registration for the seven-week Community Emergency Response Team course that begins Nov. 1. It consists of 25 hours of classroom and hands on training and concludes with a drill. Applications are due by Oct. 24 and are on the city website, lagunabeachcity.net.
