Grateful for a Shrine of Solidarity

Editor,

We want to express our deepest thanks to the people responsible for erecting the sign and Christmas tree at Main Beach, remembering the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

As we stood at the remembrance sign which read, “Our hearts are with you, Sandy Hook families, Love, Laguna Beach”, and then slowly reading the names of those killed, printed on cards and hung with ribbons on the Christmas tree, we felt the comfort of solidarity with which our town embraces each one of these precious souls.

With grateful thanks,

Matt and Mary Aslin, Laguna Beach
