El Toro Road & 73 Toll Road Warrant arrest
2:58 a.m. When wants and warrants were checked during a traffic
stop, Francisco Martinez, Jr., 23, Santa Ana, was taken into
custody for an unspecified Central Court warrant with $10K bail.
Main Beach Warrant
6:04 a.m. Richard Alan Mayer, 38, Westminster, was arrested on a
Long Beach warrant with $10,000 bail for public intoxication.
Hawthorne Road - 400 Block Grand theft
7:04 a.m. The catalytic converter was taken from a Toyota at some
point overnight. The value is $600.
Laguna Beach High School Vandalism
8:25 a.m. A bicycle was damaged.
Monument Point Vandalism
9:28 a.m. Considerable graffiti was found on a staircase railing.
Jewel Avenue - 31600 Block Grand theft
2:39 p.m. A 1995 Toyota had its catalytic converter removed.
Tuesday
Three Arch Bay (N. Encino) Petty theft
2:36 p.m. A handicap placard and its DMV authorization form
were taken from a car.
N. Coast Hwy - 200 Block Warrants
3:16 p.m. Carl W. Webb, 35, homeless, was taken into custody for
fiveoutstanding warrants. A Harbor Court warrant was for FTA
fighting in public with bail of $15,000. The other four were from
San Bernardino - two for public intoxication and two for being
under the influence of a controlled substance.
Pavilions Parking Lot Burglary, vehicle
4:53 p.m. A silver Toyota Land Cruiser was entered via a smashed
window. A briefcase, checks and cash were taken.
Treasure Island Beach Parking Lot Burglary, vehicle
5:46 p.m. A purse was taken from a Pontiac. Entry was gained by a
smashed window. Total loss: $2700.
Ralphs Market Warrant arrest
10:51 p.m. Kimberly Karen Panno, 53, homeless, was arrested on a
Harbor Court warrant with a charge of interfering with a business.
Wednesday
Thurston Middle School Verbal threats
8:59 a.m. It was reported that on Tuesday at school, one student
threatened to kill another student.
Nyes Place - 400 Block Vandalism, vehicle
9:31 a.m. Rocks were thrown at a parked car.
Main Beach Vandalism
9:53 a.m. Swastikas were painted on a drinking fountain.
S. Coast Hwy - 1300 Block Drug arrest
6:25 p.m. Police received a 9-1-1 call from staff personnel at
Spencer Recovery about a male patient who was out of control and
resisting the staff's attempts to calm him. When officersarrived
on scene they were informed that the patient was semi-cooperative
and that staff personnel had taken a quantity of heroin from
him. Newhall resident Chad Cassis, 20, was arrested for felony
possession of heroin with bail set at $20,000.
Thursday
Oak Street - 600 Block Petty theft
2:34 p.m. A homeowner provided police with a named suspect who
allegedly took bricks from an outside wall.
Wesley Drive - 21600 Block ID theft; Fraud
3:23 p.m. The RP discovered that an unknown person had been
able to obtain credit card information and charge $848.77. The RP
told police that the credit card had not been out of her possession.
Friday
Mermaid Street - 400 Block Burglary, vehicle
8:55 a.m. Someone who smashed a window to gain access took
personal items valued at $2500 from the RP's vehicle overnight.
Ralphs Market Shoplifting; Parole hold
11:52 a.m. Police were called by store employees who reported
that a man had stolen liquor. Ryan Ephraim Rogers, 33, Long
Beach, was arrested for petty theft. When it was learned that he
was on active parole, following protocol, police notified his parole
officerand Rogers was ordered held without bail for violating
parole and taken to Santa Ana city jail.
S. Coast Hwy - 000 Block Burglary, residential
6:23 p.m. A woman returned to her home after spending about a
half-hour at the beach and discovered that jewelry valued at as
much as $40,000 was missing. The home had been unlocked.
Saturday
Treasure Island Park Juvenile arrests
12:15 a.m. Two juveniles from Cypress were taken into custody
for curfew violation. One was charged with possession of less than
an ounce of marijuana while the other was charged with minor in
possession of alcohol. Both were taken to the police station and
later released to parents.
Cypress Drive - 500 Block Theft
9:52 a.m. Police received a cell phone 9-1-1 call about a man who
had stolen an antique bench from a garage sale. The RP said the
man - in his 50s or 60s - had driven off in a white SUV with the
bench partially sticking out of a door. Police were unable to locate
the suspect. When they made contact with the RP - who was not
holding the garage sale - they learned that the man had been seen
at many other local garage sales.
Sunday
Broadway Bus Depot Warrants
8:21 p.m. "Cowboy", Charles Reginald Conwell, 56, homeless,
was arrested for two Harbor Court warrants. Both were for public
intoxication. One also had a charge of open container in public and
the other also contained a charge of drinking in public.
Coast Hwy & Wesley Drive Burglary, vehicle
10:07 p.m. A rented Chevy Impala was broken into by someone
who made off with a laptop and cash. Total loss: $2320.
Coast Hwy & Eagle Rock Way Warrant arrest
10:15 p.m. Huntington Beach resident Marcelo Castiglia, 33,
was arrested for an outstanding Harbor Court Laguna Hills traffic
warrant with unspecified charges.
N. Coast Hwy - 1200 Block Evading; resisting
11:37 p.m. When an officerattempted to make a traffic stop,
the driver tried to fleebut wasn't successful. He had become
embedded in soft dirt when turning onto a side street. The officer
ordered the driver and a male passenger to exit the vehicle with
their hands up only to have the driver take off on foot. The officer
held the passenger at gunpoint until backup units arrived. Officers
came close to apprehending the driver during a foot pursuit
through North Laguna neighborhoods but the he managed to elude
them. Police were able to identify the suspect from documents in
the car and made contact the following morning with John Patrick
McMullan, 39, of Los Alamitos, as he slept in the passenger's
motel room. He was arrested for outstanding warrants and
probation violation. Other charges are pending.
Mar Vista Way - 1400 Block Drugs
1:49 a.m. (Monday Feb 18) Officersresponded to a report of a
disturbance inside a home. On scene, Jensen Gray, 22, Laguna
Beach, was arrested for felony possession of heroin and held
without bail for probation violation. Melissa Bamberg, 23, of
Laguna Beach, was taken into custody for possession of drug
paraphernalia (syringes and formed aluminum foil).
