Council needs counseling
Editor: Enough already with the finger pointing and blame game. With lots of confusion, hurt feelings, out-of-pocket artist time and expenses, etc., the biggest city funded public art project is done. Full Story
Art Commission - flawed from beginning to end?
Editor: As an artist with public sculptures from San Francisco to San Diego (several in Laguna Beach dating back to 1986), I was astounded by the inconsistencies and ambiguities at work in the choosing of the artwork for the Senior/ Community Center. Full Story
The price for damaging open space
Editor: The City claims that it does not allow developers to use the permanent open space adjacent to new construction. However, the new house being built at 3325 Alta Laguna Boulevard has extensively damaged the adjacent environmentally sensitive permanent open space, including creating a road and driving large earth moving equipment across the open space. Catching up

We may need to park our car in Zanzibar
Editor: RE: Council says no to parking program for residents… The parking issue, it is quite clear is one the resident's hold dear; But to park in dark by the place we live is not a benefit they'll give. Those spaces now they will reserve for hotels and the guests they serve, since to allow residents these terms would open up a can of worms. Full Story

Dennis - thanks for at least responding to my Letter to the Editor of March 7, 2008, no one from the City Council did. The PTC overall does a good job. However, on the issue of the residential permit parking program, I think they failed. Full Story
Our biggest export
Editor: I have read, with interest, the articles that are suggesting banning plastic bags from groceries and stores. I would love to do the earth friendly thing, but do we really do the research, or do we do gut reactions? Full Story

We live near the beach in north Laguna and the hills above us prevent your FM signal through our stereo system and antenna. Full Story
Someone is bound to
Editor: Did the Savior die on the cross to show us not only the way to Heaven but the future course of evolution in which the human race plays sacrificiallamb to the lion of heroic possibility God has chosen to take its place? Full Story
One and only beautiful, natural and happy life
Editor: April Fool's day is approaching and this damned fool (the damned part taken literally by some) would like to comment on foolishness. Psalm 14:1 says, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." The psalm goes on to say, "They (me and over one million other Americans) are corrupt, have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Full Story
Easter
Editor: Why is Easter such a big deal? Easter is the celebration of either the greatest hoax or the greatest miracle this world has ever known. If Jesus Christ did not return from the dead, there is no valid foundation for the faith named after Him but, if He did, that one event sets Him apart from being just another founder of a major religion.
