Hoop Event Is a Serious Cause
LBHS Pink Ribbon Club will be holding a fundraising basketball game at Laguna Beach High School on Mar. 29, helping raise funds that allow two teachers to join a 60-mile walk. The first such event two years ago helped faculty member Kristin Parker. Full Story
Orientation Set for El Morro Kindergarten
Parents of children who will be attending kindergarten at El Morro Elementary this fall are invited to attend a preorientation at the school at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26. This will be an opportunity for working parents to get information and have questions answered about the upcoming registration and school year. Full Story
Rotary Honors Local Student
At its Mar. 14 meeting, the Laguna Beach Rotary Club honored its Laguna Beach High School student of the month, John Robinson, a senior and a math whiz. John, whose activities include marching band, the pit orchestra, and the Boy Scouts, also received a National Merit commendation. Full Story

Eighth-grade science teacher Patricia Twitty pitches in at Domino's, offering a share of Wednesday night proceeds through April to customers who mention Thurston Middle School's end of year festivities. Students are also holding a car wash March 29 in the district lot. Full Story
Students Earn Natl. Merit Honors
This year, nine Laguna Beach High School seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Program, an honor received by just 4 percent of qualifying U.S. students. Taylor Ceithaml, Emily Cronin, Allison Dial, Sheldon Eaton, Matthew Miller, Kelly Morrell, Brendan O'Hare, and John Robinson have received National Merit letters of commendation. Full Story

Stick People Look Ahead to Next Season
Coach Peter Davidson's under 12 boys soccer team, Violent Stick People, competed recently in the Section 11 AYSO championships. Eight teams from Southern California competed for the under 12 championship. Laguna faced teams from West Garden Grove, Lynwood and Chula Vista, ultimately losing their matches. Full Story
