The pink "L"
Editor: First of all, I want to thank Derek Ostensen for the beautiful job on the "L" on our hill above the high school. What an inspiration it was to see that gleaming, freshly-painted white "L" on Easter Sunday morning! I was thrilled that someone actually took the time, the pain of cactus-needles and the effort to restore it. Full Story
"Mow, blow and go"

Changing symbolism of the Olympic Torch
Editor: To me, and many in my generation, the Olympic Torch is a symbol of the original spirit of the Olympic Games. Along with the olive branch and the white dove, the Torch was a symbol of universal brotherhood and an inspiration to go "faster, higher and stronger." It was a common aspiration of young athletes to qualify for the Olympic Team and someday carry the Torch. Full Story
