Are city regulations hampering small businesses?
Editor: I just stopped by the newsstand on Ocean and PCH to get my weekend fixof reading material. The inviting bright blue awning that makes the newsstand stand out was rolled up and out of sight. The newsagent informed me that the city won't allow it to be rolled down because it doesn't meet city standards. Full Story
Will downtown restrictions kill our cultural heritage?
Editor: Anyone who has lived in Laguna for a decade or more has noticed the recent preponderance of vacant commercial spaces all over town. Start at South Coast Highway and drive north and my guess is that Coast Hardware has run low on "For Lease" signs as they are plastered with way too much frequency all over town. Full Story

Editor: I hope others share my concern over the Council's attempt to ban live music at Ocean Avenue Brewery. It's appalling that these entrenched politicians want to legislate nightlife right out of Laguna. Egly and Pearson want to nuke the place and eliminate live music completely. Full Story

Are toll road transponders just big brother tracking us?
