Fundraiser a Galloping Success

Breaking Bread to Support Shelter
The 13th annual Dinners Across Laguna and Beyond event brought together over 400 guests at 22 events to support Friendship Shelter programs. This year the event spanned February through April so that more people would have a chance to participate. One dinner, scheduled for July, remains. Full Story
Foundation Adds Local to its Board
Laguna Beach resident Rona Gromet has joined the South Coast Medical Center Foundation's board. Gromet brings strong Laguna Beach ties to the hospital. She is currently a trustee of SchoolPower, which supports the town's school district. Full Story
Parking Permit Renewal Begins by Mail
City-issued shopper parking permits will expire July. 31 and applications for new permits, valid from Aug. 1, 2008 - Jul. 31, 2010, will be mailed to current permit holders. Residents who do not receive an application by May 31 should call 497-0314 with their name and mailing address to have an application mailed to them. Full Story

Blue Lagoon, Montage Home Builder Resolve Height Squabble
A disagreement between 16 members of the Blue Lagoon homeowners association and local architect Morris Skendarian over the height of a proposed 7,700 square foot home on the neighboring Montage resort was resolved with a deal brokered by the City Council on Tuesday. Full Story
Symphony Supporters
Laguna Beach residents Hans and Valerie Imhoff along with Ellie and Mike Gordon, were among 370 guests who came to hear "A Chicago Story," Pacific Symphony's annual gala on May 10, which honored a Windy City native, John Forsyte, and netted $1 million to support its artistic and educational programs.
