Displeased with our editorial approach
Editor: We are saddened by the focus of your report on the tragic accident of May 19 in which the inaccurate and unnecessary details of your story made the experience all the more painful for the families involved. Full Story
Same old, same old
Editor: Well, [on May 19] at the joint City Council/Planning Commission hearing we had the launching of the EIR deliberations for Athens Group's Aliso Creek development. It was reminiscent of a casting call that might have happened years ago for one of the many old biblical movies of the 50's and 60's. Full Story
Conveying questions about Camp Dolph's conveyance
Editor: I want to commend the Indy for Ann Christophís wonderful article [5/23/08 Laguna Home Companion] about Camp Elizabeth Dolph! The picture of Lady Baden Powell brought back treasured memories of my own Girl Scout days. The fact that she actually visited Camp Elizabeth Dolph is a part of Lagunaís history that should not be forgotten. Full Story
Montage and taxes
Editor: Due to the great tax revenue stream from the Montage Resort and Spa, there are many in town who take the position to just let the Athens Group do whatever they want to in redeveloping the Aliso Creek Inn. It's all about the horrendous traffic
Editor: I am writing in regards to the Athens project at Aliso Canyon and the city's apparent disregard for the people who live in this town. Not only is the project going to cause physical harm to the area surrounding Aliso Canyon, it is going to increase our horrendous traffic problem. Full Story

Environmental aid
Editor: In the past two weeks, three inspiring events happened in Laguna serving to both rally our community and come to the aid of our beleaguered environment. First, I witnessed our beaches being cleaned from Cress to Oak Streets. Thanks to the City and Vic Hilstead for doing so. Full Story
Hopping says it's Connell and Felder for City Council
Editor: The recent proposal by Scott Alan of James Pribram for City Council might better be represented by two of Laguna's distinguished activists: Dave Connell and Gene Felder. In these troubled times, with terrorists threatening Laguna Beach along with "nasty" aliens right there in our own artsy canyon, Dave Connell, a oneyear at-sea veteran, 4. Full Story
Kiwis watch MTV
Editor: We were recently "down under" in Australia and New Zeeland. The people there are very friendly and easy to strike up a conversation with. Seemed like everyone knew all about Laguna Beach. So we started to ask if they had visited here. Oh no. Apparently the TV show "Laguna Beach" is quite popular there. Full Story
