Larger Lifeguard HQ Inches Forward
Square footage of the proposed new lifeguard headquarters at north Main Beach went up, went down, and then went back up during Tuesday's City Council meeting. It might possibly get bigger still. The existing 1,850 square foot headquarters at the north end of the sand has long been overcrowded, serving as a home base for nearly 100 guards at peak summer season. Full Story

Wyland's Farewell Mural

'Go Figure!' Exhibit Takes Shape Relying on the Human Form

From July 19 to 27, the Southern California Artists Association is sponsoring its first juried fineart exhibition, entitled "Go Figure!" Entries are due Friday, June 20. Submitted works are limited to two-dimensional mediums and, as the name suggests, they must incorporate a human figure (or figures) as their subject in some discernable way. Full Story

beach Baseball Coach Jeff Sears announced the 2008 Baseball honorees including the Orange Coast League All-League Team. Laguna finished 7-5 in league and 14-16 overall. The season was among the school's best in the past 50 years and recorded the second highest win total in 70 seasons. Full Story
