Flak attack

    Editor: Dennis Myers sounds like a man delivering flakfor the Athens group in his critique of Ann Christophís May 23 article in which she expressed interest in conserving a pristine Aliso Canyon. Until I met Ann a couple of months ago I thought she was just another gadfly we had to endure. Not so, she is a very likeable person who is willing to act on her beliefs. Full Story

Preventing disaster

Stop the larger underground lots

    Editor: Our city is now in the process of changing our building codes to make it possible to build larger buildings with larger underground parking lots. Two examples are the Community/ Senior Center now being built on 3rd Street at the bottom of the 3rd Street hill and the proposed Athens development at Aliso. Full Story
Thurston's Butterfly - A moving play - but where were you?

    Editor: I was privileged to have a child perform in the Thurston Middle School Park Avenue Players production of "I Never Saw A Butterfly Again" this past week. I attended two performances and I was struck by the talent exhibited by these performers. They tackled the material about the Holocaust with a maturity that I would expect from High School performers. Full Story

    Editor: Your article [6/09] states that the city of Laguna Beach is using money from the open space fund to purchase the Caltrans land. Sounds like an issue no one has discussed. Could this be legal? Full Story
Opponents of day labor site: LB was/is a sanctuary city
