Renovations Near Their End
Reconstruction of a favorite summer picnic spots, the 68-year-old Heisler Park, nears completion after a 10-month overhaul. Newly constructed picnic areas, restrooms and walks, along with erosion control above Rockpile Beach, should reopen for public use shortly, possibly as early as July 1, according to city officials. The 18.5 acre park was set aside in 1906 when the Laguna Cliffs subdivision was created by L.C. McKnight and H.G. Heisler. Full Story

The LBHS Make-a-Wish club's fundraiser last Thursday skipped the typical bake sale and silent auction.
