Incident Reports:

Monday - June 23 Pinecrest Drive - 300 Block & Other Locations Mail Theft 5:41 p.m. Santa Ana police notified the RP that they had arrested a suspect who had checks made out by the RP. The RP was asked to make a report with LBPD. Police took two other related reports on Crescent Bay Drive and Hawthorne Road. Police said in all three incidents, the victims had placed outgoing mail in their mailboxes and put the flag up to alert the postal carrier - and alert would-be thieves who know that most outgoing envelopes contain fresh checks that are easily "washed" and cashed.

Glenneyre & Thalia Street Public Intoxication 12:21 p.m. Melvin Walker Moss, 53, no fixed address, was arrested

for 647F.

Tuesday - June 24

Coast Hwy - 30600 Block Warrant Arrest 2:50 a.m. Wants and warrants checked during a traffic stop led to the arrest of Los Alamitos resident Kenneth Lloyd Tucker, Jr., on a West Court warrant for possession of under an ounce of marijuana.

Mountain View Drive - 3000 Block ID Theft; Grand Theft 2:26 p.m. The RP's bank account was accessed by an unknown person who made purchases exceeding $400.

S. Coast Hwy - 100 Block Warrant Arrest 3:52 p.m. James Lewis Duran, no fixed address, was arrested on a warrant charging battery of a cohabitant and resisting/obstructing/ delaying a police officer with $15,000 bail.

Laguna Canyon Road & Woodland Drive Felony Battery 10:16 p.m. A man (the victim) walking along LCR accidentally bumped into a couple in the midst of a kiss. The male half immediately screamed an accusation that the victim had lewdly touched the female half. Police said a second man suddenly, "…came out of nowhere…" and the two began repeatedly beating the victim with their fists. When the victim was knocked into some bushes, the two men continued to pound away. A passerby happened along and tried, to no avail, to get the two men to stop. They stopped a bit later when the female half yelled, "The cops are coming!" The two suspects and the female ran off and police were unable to locate them. The victim suffered facial injuries, which medics considered a trauma and transported the victim to Mission Hospital. Police said they do have an independent witness and detectives are actively investigating

the incident.

Wednesday - June 25

Ocean Front & Brooks Street Public Intoxication 1:24 a.m. Colleen Carmel Lamp, 33, was arrested for 647F.

Ocean Avenue - 300 Block Warrant Arrest 2:20 a.m. Shirley Pazder, 68, no fixed address, was arrested for an unspecified warrant when police found her sleeping.

Aliso Beach Vandalism 10:05 a.m. Restroom doors were tagged with graffiti.

Oriole Drive - 900 Block Petty Theft 12:16 p.m. Miscellaneous items were stolen while the RP held a garaged sale over the weekend.

Wave Street - 200 Block Fraud; ID Theft 1:39 p.m. Police were provided with a named suspect who may have used the RP's personal information to obtain credit.

South Coast Medical Center Fraud; ID Theft 3:57 p.m. Hospital customer service routinely contact patients after release to obtain an opinion about their recent hospitalization. When the RP received such a call, she told the caller that she had no idea what they were talking about. Turns out that another woman had been self-admitted for psychiatric services using the RPís name and medical insurance card to cover a total of $13,000 in hospital charges.

South Coast Medical Center ER Assault & Battery 6:22 p.m. Officers responded when a 9-1-1 call reported that a patient was attacking an emergency room nurse. The RP gave the patientís name, Paul Stuart Andrews, 25, of Huntington Beach. When the dispatcher ran the name through the countywide Coplink system, responding officers knew that Andrews had a history of violent behavior before they arrived on scene. Andrews had lashed out at the nurse knocking a clipboard out of his hands. That was followed by Andrews chasing the nurse with his fists clenched and yelling threats. Andrews was arrested on a charge of assault and battery against a person providing emergency medical treatment.

Thursday - June 26 Park Avenue & Bern Drive Warrant Arrest 3:48 a.m. Jose Luis Campos, 39, Mexico, was arrested on a Harbor Court Laguna Hills traffic warrant with bail of $2500.

Davis Way - 700 Block Verbal Threats 11:47 a.m. A threatening message was left on the RP's voicemail.

Friday - June 27 Broadway Bus Depot Warrant Arrest 12:59 p.m. Edward P. Nixon, 56, no fixed address, was taken into custody on a Harbor Court warrant for public intoxication.

Wendt Terrace - 800 Block Petty Theft 8:10 p.m. Mail was stolen from the RP's mailbox during a move.

Glenneyre - 800 Block Warrant Arrest 10:52 p.m. Laguna Beach resident Matthew Halloran Pierovich, 36, was arrested on a Harbor Court Laguna Hills warrant for FTA possession of under an ounce of marijuana.

Saturday - June 28 Cliff Drive - 600 Block Vandalism 1:48 p.m. Patio furniture was damaged.

S. Coast Hwy - 1600 Block Burglary 5:47 p.m. Jewelry (valued at $1300) was taken from a room in the Best Western hotel.

Ralphs Market Shoplifting 11:36 p.m. The manager of the market chased a teenage male who ran out of the store but lost sight of the suspect across Coast Hwy near Taco Bell. The manager provided police with the license plate of a light blue Toyota SUV that she felt could be involved after speaking with its occupants. Later reviewing surveillance tapes, the manager realized that the shoplifter had been in the Toyota and also saw that the teenager had stolen a box of condoms.

Sunday - June 29 Castlerock Road Recovered Stolen Vehicle 12:51 a.m. The OC Sheriff's copter "Duke" received a low-level LoJack signal for a 1997 Olds Bravada SUV that had been reported stolen Saturday in Laguna Woods. Flying in the signalís direction along Laguna Canyon Road, Duke notified Laguna police. Units with LoJack gear located the stolen SUV unoccupied and undamaged on Castlerock Road with a cold engine.

S. Coast Hwy - 1500 Block Burglary, commercial 4:20 a.m. A gallery's door was smashed to gain entry.

S. Coast Hwy - 1200 Block & Other Locations Vandalism 10:15 a.m. Graffiti, some of it called gang-style by police, was found on several storefront windows, walls and parking meters and cars were keyed at some point overnight in the area.

Main Beach Warrant Arrest 11:41 a.m. Frankie T. Anthony, 40, was taken into custody on a Harbor Court Laguna Hills warrant for FTA possession of under an ounce of marijuana.

Katella Street - 1100 Block Fraud; ID Theft 6:27 p.m. A Nordstrom account was opened using the RP's personal information and charges of $2000 were incurred.

Sun Valley Drive - 20400 Block Burglary, residential 7:26 p.m. A laptop, a camera, a camcorder, a desktop computer and a money order for $270 were taken from a home after a suspect(s) entered through an unlocked side door.
