Climate- Protecting Measure Adopted
Mayor Jane Egly asked the 150 or so people who assembled at City Hall on Tuesday night, "How many support the recommended action?" to adopt a plan of action to protect the climate. Such action would formalize a pact adopted locally in February 2007 and by 800 other cities nationwide. Full Story

Campground Breaks Ground Despite Budget Crisis
Few real estate projects take 30 years to come to fruition. After years of legal wrangling and emotional debate in several venues on the conversion of El Moro campground for public use, a Los Angeles construction firm will begin Monday clearing the grounds of the demolished mobile home park to make way for 60 new overnight camping sites, day use parking and picnic areas. Child safety: nothing was or is more important
Editor: Some 35 plus years ago I was with my son in Bluebird Park and he was fascinated by the leaky water fountain right by the entrance to the park. At the time mud was one of his interests. Artist Held at the Gate a Second Time
The gate artist Jon Seeman designed for Bluebird Park seemed in danger of slamming shut on him this week. Yet after much testimony by the public and arts commissioners, who unanimously recommended Seeman's whimsical gate, the City Council also voted 4-1 to approve the installation contingent upon an expert's evaluation and approval that it meets safety standards.
