Counselor Shifts Jobs, Named to New Post
After 19 years of service in various jobs for the Laguna Beach school district, Gretchen Ernsdorf was selected Friday to fill a newly created position, a second assistant principal at Laguna Beach High School. Laguna Beach's 12 and under girls age group water polo team won first place last weekend in a key tournament leading up to the National Junior Olympics. The John Hale Summer Championship tournament featured over 150 teams of various ages that competed in a dozen pools in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Full Story

Track Club Returns With Jr. Olympic Medals
Six Laguna athletes in the newly established Laguna Beach Track Club took home 10 medals after participating July 11-13 in the AAU West Coast Junior Olympics in Reno, Nev. The half-dozen competitors, led by Coach Mark Harris, survived 100-degree temperatures and poor air quality due to wildfires. Full Story
Stellar Laguna Students at Emory College
Wesley Wheeler of Laguna Beach, son of Virginia Anne Wheeler of Laguna Beach, and William Gary Wheeler of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., received a bachelor of art's degree from Emory College at its 163rd commencement ceremony on May 12. Full Story
