Sick of SCMC and its broken promises
Editor: South Coast Medical Center is making nearby residents sick! Two "temporary" generators in their lower parking lot have been there for months, and make noise all day and now all night long. Recently, both of the generators have been replaced with noisier models, leading to sleepless nights in neighborhoods all around the hospital. Full Story

Editor: Regarding the affordable housing issue, I grew up in LB and remember when it truly was an open bohemian community. I grew up low income with my artist mom and my father who worked at a job he hated but paid the bills. He'd commute to the inland empire five days a week. Full Story

Editor: The Laguna Bluebelt failed to drive a consensus and achieve unanimity regarding… representatives for hearings about Marine Reserve status hereabouts, and they should know why. Their own leadership lacked the most basic understanding of how real stakeholder groups function. Full Story
TCA hearing on 241 still must be public
Editor: The Transportation Corridor Agencies appeal hearing scheduled July 25 regarding the proposed 241 toll road has been postponed and possibly canceled. The reason given was an expected public turnout of approximately 10,000 people. Full Story
Israel is one of our best allies
Editor: This is in reference to the 7/18/08 anti-Israel, anti- Republican, anti-Bush letter by Matt Smith, under the heading "Darn GOP NeoCons." According to Smith, nuclear weapons in the possession of Iran is primarily Israel's problem and that America is opposing Iran only for Israel's sake. Full Story
