Monday - July 28

Oro Street - 1000 Block Vandalism 4:13 p.m. A security camera captured the image of a skateboarder using and damaging a resident's front stairs.

Park Avenue & Short Street Petty Theft 5:16 p.m. A wallet was taken from a vehicle.

Main Beach Warrant Arrest 9:57 p.m. Officers were called about a man yelling loudly at people while walking along the boardwalk. James L. Durand, 49, no fixed address, was quieted and then taken into custody for an outstanding Harbor Court Laguna Hills warrant with $1500 bail.

Ralphs Market Shoplifting 10:04 p.m. The store manager called police about a man who had just left the store after shoplifting. The manager told police that he had seen the suspect drink a beer and hide items in his pockets via a security camera in the restroom. Juan Sanchez, 31, Bakersfield, was arrested for petty theft.

Tuesday - July 29

Cliff Drive - 300 Block Public Intoxication 12:42 a.m. Rancho Cucamonga resident Conley Desean Moret, 36, was arrested for public intoxication.

Laguna Canyon Road - 700 & 800 Blocks Vandalism 11 a.m. Walls were tagged with graffiti.

S. Coast Hwy - 1700 Block Petty Theft 2:49 p.m. Sunglasses were missing from a vehicle that had been valet parked earlier.

Broadway Bus Depot Grand Theft ++ 9:27 p.m. A witness called police after seeing two men in an altercation at the bus station. As officers arrived, a man later identified as Joseph William Brummel, 40, of Mission Viejo, ran off across Ocean Ave towards Forest ignoring an order to stop. Officers found him a short time later hiding under a staircase. Police said Brummel tussled with an officer before being handcuffed. The other man at the bus depot said Brummel had walked up to him and ransacked his backpack refusing to stop.

Surf & Sand Petty Theft; Trespassing 10:14 p.m. After sneaking a swim in the hotel's pool, three nonguests took eight towels from the pool and three potted plants that were in another area. Hotel security caught the trio and detained them for police. Allegra Mount, 18, Aliso Viejo, Anthony Taylor, 18, and a 17-year-old girl, both from Laguna Beach, were arrested for petty theft and trespassing. The girl was released to her mother at the police station. Mount and Taylor were booked and released.

Wednesday - July 30

Aliso Beach Drugs 6:05 a.m. An officer made contact with a Laguna Hills man who was inside of a parked vehicle. A glass meth pipe was found along with pills requiring a prescription (that the man didn't have). Herbert Anthony Johnson, 55, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Second Avenue - 31600 Block Petty Theft 11:10 a.m. The RP noticed that cosmetics and perfumes were missing after workers left the residence.

San Tropez Court - 100 Block Credit Card Fraud 2:10 p.m. An unknown person used the victim's credit card information to access porn sites.

Thursday - July 31

Coast Hwy & Third Avenue Warrant Arrest 3:09 p.m. Edward Randell Hopkins, Jr., 49, of Costa Mesa, was arrested on a Central Court warrant for FTA public intoxication.

S. Coast Hwy - 900 Block Parole Hold 11:31 p.m. Paul Leslie Ogle, 51, Laguna Beach, was taken into custody for parole violation and held without bail.

Friday - August 1

Park Avenue - 200 Block Public Intoxication 2:38 a.m. Douglas Heffernan, 26, Irvine, was arrested for 647F.

Coast Hwy - 30800 Block Warrant Arrest 6:22 a.m. Francisco Porfino Contreras, 36, Mexicali, was arrested for a probation violation warrant.

Diamond Street - 200 Block Drugs 11:36 a.m. A new tenant arrived to move into a new place became concerned when she saw three men smoking what appeared to be pot outside. She called police reporting that when they saw her looking at them, the three went inside her new home. Police made contact with the men and let two of them go about their way. A third, Daniel Chomia, 27, Garden Grove, was arrested. The charges were possession of methamphetamine (a felony), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of under an ounce of pot.

Coast Hwy - 30800 Block Theft 11:3p p.m. A cell phone was stolen.

Saturday - August 2

S. Coast Hwy & Nyes Place Vandalism 10:35 a.m. Graffiti was found on a street sign.

Coast Hwy & Montage Resort Drive Public Intoxication 11:27 a.m. Michael Anthony Wass, 47, no fixed address, was arrested for public intoxication.

Arch Street - 200 Block Attempt Burglary 11:34 a.m. A sliding door had signs of pry marks.

Ocean Avenue - 200 Block Forgery +++ 12:41 p.m. Wells Fargo employees stalled a woman who was trying to cash a check, which they told police appeared to be forged. When the bank tried to reconcile the woman's driver's license with the account information, they became suspicious when it was noticed that the woman's license gave a 1971 as her year of birth while bank records indicated the account holder had been born in 1929. Police arrived and shortly thereafter, Vanessa Brown, 37, Los Angeles, was taken into custody on two counts of forgery, grand theft, commercial burglary and providing false information to a police officer.

Virginia Way - 32000 Block Grand Theft 5:10 p.m. The RP's bicycle was stolen from her backyard while she was in hospital having surgery.

Sunday - July 27

S. Coast Hwy - 1300 & 1800 Blocks Felony Vandalism 9:16 a.m. Large pots and other pottery were smashed overnight.
