Survivor's Published Story Offers Comfort to Others
Staff photo by Courtenay Nearburg Local resident Rosalie Marsh- Boinus' cancer-survivor story will be published in a compilation to be released this fall.
Rosalie Marsh-Boinus, a Laguna Beach resident, Sawdust Festival artist and two-time breast cancer survivor, will have her short story, "The Pebble and the Rock: A Love Story" published in an upcoming book entitled, "A Cup of Comfort for Breast Cancer Survivors," published by Adams Media.
The book, featuring stories from breast cancer survivors, will be released in October to coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of the book's proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Marsh-Boinus' short story is one of 50 in the book and was chosen from among 2,500 submissions to a Redbook magazine contest. In addition to being a soon-tobe published author, Marsh- Boinus also designs one-of-akind purses, which she sells at the Sawdust Festival, along with oil paintings and prints from her world travels.
