Museum Offers Docent Training
Laguna Art Museum is accepting applications for its docent training class. Members of the Laguna Art Museum Docent Corps provide tours for visitors and school groups and serve as ambassadors of art within the museum. The class will begin in late October and runs through May. Full Story

Book signing Sept. 25
Author Visits Laguna Books
Writer Jane Porter will read from and sign copies of her new book, "Mrs. Perfect" at Laguna Beach Books at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. Porter has written over 25 novels, including "Flirting With Forty," which was optioned by Sony Pictures for Lifetime TV and is expected to air in December. Opera Soars Under the Stars at Irvine Bowl
Opera Pacific's Laguna shindig this year was devoted to Giacomo Puccini. But it was a sophisticated listening experience, suitable for a Laguna audience. Maestro John DeMain filled the first half with contemporaries of Puccini and there were some rarities indeed. Full Story
Taste of 'Honey' Finds a New Audience
The "Honey West" TV series has just been released on DVD. The show, co-created by Laguna Beach resident Gloria Fickling, aired in 1965 on ABC. Eleven novels accompanied the show and over 10 million copies were sold worldwide. Full Story
Laguna Beach Artist Returns for a One-Man Show
After a four-year absence, artist and animator Patrick J. Moran returns to Laguna Beach with a one-man show, "Including Laguna," at the performance and exhibition space Seven Degrees. Moran is a former Laguna College of Art & Design instructor, Sawdust Art Festival exhibitor and gallery owner whose show of original oil-oncanvas works will be on display through Sept. 28. Full Story

Improv Night Benefit's Laguna Beach Fellowship "Take One - An Evening of Improv and Comedy" will be presented at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach on Saturday, Sept. 20. Laguna Beach resident Linda ("Lindy") Frost directs a troupe of professional players who promise an evening of laughter with improv performances based on audience suggestions. Full Story

The public is invited to join the city's Arts Commission on Sunday, Sept. 21, for the third annual Public Art Tour Day. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. docentled trolley tours will offer insight into Laguna Beach's public art collection and the artists who created them.
