Stations' Open Doors Raise Fire Awareness
In observance of fire prevention month, marking the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Laguna Beach Fire Department will host a "Fire Station Tour Day" this Saturday, Oct. 11. A Tribute to Jane Mortimer, Advocate for Local Seniors
The board of directors of Sally's Fund salutes their cofounder Jane Gage Mortimer who passed away in August. Mortimer served the community of Laguna Beach in countless ways since she moved here in 1961, including volunteer work at South Coast Medical Center, the Assistance League, the Laguna Fish Program, Café Pacifica, and the Housing and Community Affairs Committee. Five Girls Earn Scouts' Top Award
Five girls from Laguna Beach Girl Scout Troop 575 earned silver awards, the highest awarded a cadette Girl Scout. The honor requires the completion of a 40-hour service project as well as several other requirements, including leadership and career exploration.
