Fired Up Over New Recruits
The Laguna Beach Fire Department is seeing some new action, luckily not on the fire line but in the hiring hall. Three new recruits began their two-week orientation on Monday. But for Jarett Jensen, 27, Bryan Sarjeant, 24, and Tyler Swets, 27, Laguna Beach isn't altogether new turf. All three were reserve firefighters, said Department Chief Mike Macey. Full Story

LBHS Alumni Add Spirit to 75th Year
To celebrate Laguna Beach High School's 75th year, school officials and alumni organizers plan a proper homecoming for all LBHS students, past and present. The celebration begins with a homecoming tailgate party featuring a live DJ, barbeque, and the LBHS band. The party starts in the district parking lot at 5 p.m. The public is welcome. Full Story

There were three unsuccessful arson attempts late this week on Laguna Canyon Road according to City Manager Ken Frank. An unofficial report located two of the attempts at Laguna Canyon Rd near the 405 Freeway. Full Story
