Neev Takes First in Varsity Race
Coming off a bye week, the boys' cross-country team from Laguna Beach High blew away the competition at the Pepperdine Invitational last Saturday in Malibu. The JV squad, led by senior Rand Hardy's second place finish overall, scored a resounding victory over Orange Lutheran by a count of 23 to 44. Full Story
She's Pirouetting Around Dance's Setbacks
Laguna Beach High School's new dance director, Lisa Jay, aims for a single goal this year: get the dance program back on track, and she's doing everything she can to achieve it. With a dance show already in rehearsal, Jay is confident that the program will get back on its feet in no time. Full Story
Homecoming Tonight
Garden Grove hammered the Breakers, 42-24, to remain unbeaten as their talented running back Sean Young logged over 250 yards rushing and four touchdowns in a non-league contest played at Guyer Field last Friday night. Although the game was the 22nd meeting between the two schools, it had been 54 years since they last met. Full Story
Fast-footed Hayden Runs in 4 TDs
LBHS's freshman-sophomore football team had another win last week and has improved its' record to 4-1. The Breakers played at home and whipped the Garden Grove Argonauts with a final score of 47-6. The larger school had been undefeated until meeting the Breakers. Full Story
LBHS Sports Update
Girls Golf The Breakers took a big step towards defending their league title with a 235-240 victory over Estancia at San Clemente Golf Club on Oct 1. Grace Komoroczy (Jr) led the squad with a 40 over the front nine. This past Monday on the same course, Laguna moved to 5-0 in league action and 6-3 overall with a win over Westminster. Full Story
Laguna Bees Jump into New Swim Season
The Laguna Beach Swim Team, also known as the Laguna Bees, kicked off its first swim meet of the new season on Sept. 20-21 at the Novaquatics pool in Irvine. Over 900 swimmers from 25 Southern California swim clubs participated in the meet. In some events, the Bees swam against 100 other swimmers, but buzzed with impressive results. Full Story

School Sets Sights on Scaring Safely

Local Boy Aces First Tournament
Adrien Azera, 11, recently won his first 12 and under tennis tournament, the 13th annual Anaheim Hills junior satellite. In the fifth round and final match, Adrien won 6-4 and 6-2. Adrien trains with Aaron Talarico, coach of the Laguna Beach High School boys tennis team. Full Story
Tutors Needed for El Morro School
The American Association of University Women is looking for volunteers to work at El Morro Elementary School. "Help a Child" volunteers work in the school room with the teacher during school hours, often helping small groups. Full Story
