Guards Pull Swimmers From Rip Tide
Laguna Beach lifeguards pulled six swimmers to safety without injury on Saturday after wind-driven rip tides swept them 200 yards offshore near Sleepy Hollow beach. Drawn by the emergency vehicles, scores of people watched the 15-minute operation about 3:45 p.m. on the sand and from nearby Cliff Restaurant and Vacation Village. Full Story
Deadline Nears to Vote in Election
The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 presidential election is Monday, Oct. 20. Laguna Beach's City Clerk has voter registration forms that can be filed up until 5 p.m. Oct. 20. Village Laguna's War Chest Remains Untapped
Village Laguna, a political action committee that supports measures and candidates promoting a village atmosphere, reported a war chest of $19,275 through Sept. 30 and spending of $845 so far in support of two City Council candidates, according to campaign reports filed with the city clerk.
