I am a nearly 40 year resident of Laguna Beach. I have always loved our city. I am also a Mormon, very active in my church. In fact, I am the preacher's wife. My husband, Chris, is the local bishop. Contest Lives Up to Its Name
Car trouble delayed my setting out for a six-hour drive to Santa Cruz for the Cold Water Classic. The surf contest at Steamer Lane is one of the most prestigious and challenging, but is also unusual because it is one of the few usually dominated by the local surfers. Full Story

Steering Through the Valley
With some signs of putting on the brakes, stocks continued out of control. For the month of October alone, with three trading days left, the Dow is down 16%, the S&P 500 19% and the NASDAQ 21%.
