I flew back from Paris last Sunday. The pilots of Air France had gone on strike Friday, and were staying on strike until Monday. When I first heard the strike would be on a day when top on their list of priorities should have been seeing to it that I got back to Laguna Beach, I felt hugely powerless. The Thirty-Six Hour Difference
Saturday's minimum set a warm record of 72 degrees, warmer than any minimum all summer. Saturday's maximum temp broke the old record, set in 1974, by five degrees.
