This morning I took an electric train from the station across from the campground to Clamecy. Just as I was wheeling my bike down the train platform all the screws from my mirror fell off. I stopped and picked them up, glad they were only from my mirror and not a more serious problem, such as my derailleur falling apart.

Methodists Fill Gift Boxes
The children of the Laguna Beach United Methodist Church and their families recently participated in Operation Christmas Child. They filled 75 plastic shoeboxes with items that can bring delight to a child: school supplies, hygiene items, socks, t-shirts, ball caps, and toys. The boxes are to be taken to a distribution center, where books about Jesus are added. Full Story

Conservancy to Examine Measure M's Impact
The Laguna Canyon Conservancy dinner meeting Dec. 1 at Tivoli Terrace will focus on the extension of Measure M, the half-cent sales tax passed by 70 percent of Orange County voters. Over the next 30 years, Measure M is expected to raise $11.8 billion for freeway construction or improvement, including two new environmental programs. Full Story
Filling Out a Memory for Inn's Anniversary
The current owner of La Casa del Camino Hotel is seeking anecdotes from former visitors and guests since the 1940s and during the era when the hotel was known as Hotel Firenze.
