Artist Angles Self for New Path
Longtime Sawdust Art Festival exhibitor Mary Hurlbut is retiring after 28 years as a stained glass artist, and she celebrates her final year of exhibiting at this year's News annual Winter Fantasy show which runs weekends through Dec. 14. Poster Exhibit Captures Local History
A 21-year retrospective of Festival of Arts annual posters is on display at the downtown Laguna Beach Wells Fargo through Jan. 9. Admission is free to the thirdfloor exhibit. The posters' subject matter expresses various personalities, classical landscapes, abstractions, and delicate objects, reflecting the range of creative attitudes that exist at the Festival of Arts. Playhouse Receives Rent Bailout
As part of the city's mid-year budget review, Laguna Playhouse received a one-time $12,883 rent bailout Tuesday from the City Council after a plea from managing director, Karen Wood, citing a surplus generated by the treasurer's better than expected investment results. Full Story
