Sunday - 3-2

Victoria Beach Warrant arrest
12:51 p.m. Murietta, Georgia resident Daniel Bechtold, 52, was
arrested on a Harbor Court warrant for FTA public intoxication.
Laguna Reef Inn Burglary
1:53 p.m. An employee reviewing surveillance tapes from Feb 28
came across a clear shot of a man breaking into a motel room.
Monday
St. Catherine's Church Grand theft
9:45 a.m. For a second time, someone took cash from the church
safe after 6:30 Sunday evening. Loss: $450.
Scenic Drive - 31500 Block Bank fraud
10:20 a.m. The RP's bank statement listed an electronic transfer of
$671.98 to Sprint. He has no account with Sprint and had not made
or authorized the transfer.
Three City Parks Vandalism
10:37 a.m. The city's cultural arts manager reported that three
public art works in three parks had been damaged. The turtle's
eye at Bluebird Park was most likely smashed with a hammer;
"A Tranquil Moment" at Brown's Park includes a bench that was
loosened in an attempt to steal it; and at Village Green in South
Laguna, "Green man with Birds" has a damaged wing. The damage
took place at different times but was all reported at once. Police do
not believe the three incidents are related.
Victoria Drive - 2700 Block Burglary, residential
11:18 a.m. Someone entered a residence by smashing glass in a
side garage door. Cash was missing.
Tuesday
S. Coast Hwy - 1600 Block Assault with a Deadly weapon; theft
4:13 a.m. A 20-year-old Aliso Viejo man was struck with a 2 x
4 by a thief who he had surprised riflingthrough his car in an
underground parking lot. The victim wasn't seriously injured and
discovered a watch valued at $150 was missing from his car.
N. Coast Hwy - 1400 Block Deceased person
11:21 a.m. A man returned to his Crescent Bay Inn room to
discover his girlfriend unconscious. The 48-year-old woman did
not respond to CPR. Police said the woman died of an apparent
accidental overdose of a prescription medicine. Police do not
suspect foul play.
S. Coast Hwy - 200 Block Parole hold
8:23 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance call at BJ's Pizza. On
scene, they interviewed Thomas Ladd McGregor, 35, of Garden
Grove and learned that he was an active parolee. As is normal
protocol, his parole officerwas contacted and informed of the
situation. McGregor was ordered to be held without bail for parole
violation.
Wednesday
Coast Hwy & Broadway Warrant arrests
1:45 a.m. Two Long Beach men were taken into custody during
a traffic stop for outstanding warrants. Wesley Dewayne Stokes,
26, was held for a North Court warrant for driving on a suspended
license for reckless driving. 26-year-old Dennis Michael Sievers
was arrested on a Harbor Court warrant for FTA possession of less
than an ounce of marijuana.
Cozumel - 200 Block Fraud
11:43 a.m. $10,800 in charges were made on the victim's credit
cards - all in San Bernardino County. The victim told police that
he had lost his wallet in Huntington Beach late last year.
Heisler Park Public intoxication
1:12 p.m. Marlin Kistner, 52, homeless, was arrested for 647F.
Cozumel - 100 Block Stolen, vehicle
3 p.m. A white 1997 BMW 321i was stolen overnight.
Valido Road - 31500 Block Grand theft
4:39 p.m. Tools valued at $900 were stolen from a construction
site.
Thursday
Laguna Canyon Road - 3000 Block Burglary, commercial
8:27 a.m. A welder and a leaf blower were taken overnight from a
shop at Canyon German Auto Repair.
Glenneyre - 2600 Block Vandalism, vehicle
2:14 p.m. A convertible top was slashed.
Park Avenue - 200 Block Petty theft
4 p.m. A business reported that $165 had been taken from a cash
register drawer.
Main Beach Grand theft
7 p.m. A beach visitor's wallet was stolen.
Main Beach Public intoxication; warrants
7:25 p.m. Stacy Ponkey Overton, 30, homeless was arrested for
public intoxication. On Friday afternoon, she was taken into
custody for an outstanding Harbor Court warrant with charges
of DUI, driving on a license suspended or revoked for a DUI
conviction and possession of a vehicle without the owner's
permission. Bail was set at $10,000.
Friday

Coast Hwy - 31900 Block Burglary
7:47 a.m. Someone used a bolt cutter to cut a lock to gain entry to
a fenced construction site and make off with tools overnight.
N. Coast Hwy - 1500 Block vandalism, vehicle
7:52 a.m. A convertible top was slashed overnight.
Bonn Drive - 3100 Block Grand theft; fraud
8:04 a.m. A resident reported paying $28,000 for two vehicles,
which were never delivered.
Main Beach Felony vandalism
9:36 a.m. A large wooden double-sided sign with a notice that
Main Beach is a State Marine Reserve was damaged.
Arch Street - 200 Block Felony vandalism
11:57 a.m. 14 mailboxes were taken out of the ground overnight.
Saturday

S. Coast Hwy - 600 Block Warrant arrest
2:14 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a possible sidewalk
fight. Order was restored and wants and warrants were checked
among the disorderly. David Alan Buckner, Jr., 24, was arrested on
a Central Court warrant with a charge of driving on a suspended/
revoked license with bail of $20,000.
Oak Street - 600 Block Petty theft
8:58 a.m. A computer bag was taken out of an unlocked car.
Park Avenue - 400 Block Stolen vehicle
10:09 a.m. A black Chevy Suburban was stolen at some point after
9:30 Friday night. The owner believes he may have left the keys on
the front seat.
Coast Hwy - 30800 Block Stolen vehicle
2:52 p.m. A blue Yamaha 50 dirt bike was stolen from the RP's
yard at sometime over the previous two weeks.
N. Coast Hwy & Emerald Bay Public intoxication
9:40 p.m. Callers reported that a man walking in and out of traffic
lanes along Coast Highway. Lake Forest resident Adam Weston
Millward, 24, was arrested for public intoxication.
Sunday
N. Coast Hwy - 200 Block Possession of a dangerous weapon
1:47 a.m. A traffic stop ended in the arrest of Ian Jennings, 29,
Huntington Beach, for felony possession of a dangerous weapon.
As the patrol officerspoke to Jennings at the stop, the officersaw
an expandable police baton on the rear seat.
N. Coast Hwy - 200 Block Public intoxication
3:04 a.m. A cab driver requested police assistance with a fare that
was intoxicated. Casey Beneville, 24, City of Industry, was given a
free ride in a police car after being arrested for public intoxication.
Police Station Drugs - juvenile arrest
9:10 a.m. A woman came to the police station to report that she
had found a small quantity of heroin in her 17-year-old daughter's
bedroom. The girl, already on probation, was later interviewed by
officersand arrested for felony possession of dangerous drugs. She
was taken to juvenile hall.
Laguna Woods Dognapping
9:31 a.m. The City of Laguna Woods contracts with the LBPD for
animal services. A Laguna animal services officerresponded to
Laguna Woods to assist a sheriff's deputy after a woman reported
that a known suspect had taken her Maltese. Previously, the dog
had been quarantined after biting another person. The RP said the
suspect took the dog after she had mentioned the possibility of
putting the dog down. The sheriff's department is investigating.
