Lawn Bowlers Host Open House

Governor Schwarzenegger announced May 10 to be "Lawn around Laguna beach Bowls Day," and the Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club will celebrate by holding an open house from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 455 Cliff Drive. All are welcome - just be sure to wear flat-soled shoes.

The Laguna club is one of 30 clubs in Southern California that News will be offering free lessons on Lawn Bowls Day in an effort to encourage friends and neighbors to experience the game and consider membership in the beach club. Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club is a member of the southwest division of the U.S. Lawn Bowling Association, the largest and most active in the country. Laguna Beach and Newport Beach co-host the only international lawn bowling tournament in the United States, which is held in October.
