Finding Light Amid Darkness

May 16 marks a double celebration for candle retailer Pure Light. It is the one-year birthday of the store, as well as the birthday of the inspiration behind the store, the loss of the owner's son Tyeson two years ago.

The owner invites the public to join them for this anniversary weekend, dedicated to celebrating the spirit of creativity.

Friday's events begin at 6 p.m. with a ceremony and tribute to Tyeson, followed up by the announcement of a foundation formed in Tyeson's name.

Guests will be treated to entertainment by acoustical guitarist and vocals by the talented Zuma, and a barbeque feast catered by Laguna Culinary Arts. Please RSVP for a BBQ coupon at info. purelightcelebrations.com or (949) 376-7200.

Saturday and Sunday Pure Light will be celebrating its one-year milestone with cake, refreshments, and 50% off candle making. Register to win free candle making parties and Pure Light gift certificates.

In addition to all the fun, Pure Light's founder Judy Kelly has established a nonprofit organization, The Lhyric Foundation, whose name is derived from Tyeson's love of music and the son whom he would never know.

The foundation's goal is to offer a post-rehab continuation program focused on helping artists reclaim their lives before addiction takes over.

Additionally, the foundation intends to nurture young artists' creativity.

Kelly encourages people to come learn how they can help make a difference.
