Monday - July 7 Solana Way - 2600 Block Grand Theft 9:48 a.m. The RP believes an acquaintance to be the suspect who took carpeting valued at $75,000 - six months ago.
Blumont Street - 500 Block Fraud; ID Theft 12:49 p.m. A Nordstrom account was opened in the RP's name.
Tuesday - July 8 Ralphs Parking Lot Undercover Drug Buy/Bust 12:13 p.m. Narcs were all set to close in on a suspect selling 300 OxyContin pills in the lot outside Pavilions Market. After several minutes, the suspect moved the transaction to Ralphs. Once there, the deal was made and police swooped in and arrested Oceanside resident Anthony Douglas Thrapp, 45. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
Cress Street - 400 Block Grand Theft 4:20 p.m. $3500 in fraudulent charges were made a credit card.
Wednesday - July 9 Oak Street - 200 Block Warrants + 3:55 a.m. Regino Diaz Rodriguez, 28, Lake Forest, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested for driving without a license and driver in possession of marijuana. He was also held for two West Court traffic warrants.
Main Beach Warrant Arrest 12:08 p.m. John Louis Whelpley, 38, was taken into custody for a no bail warrant for parole violation.
Main Beach Public Intoxication 4:35 p.m. Michael Anthony Wass, 47, no fixed address, was arrested for public intoxication.
Broadway - 200 Block Counterfeit 5:25 p.m. After two downtown retailers reported that a man with the same description had passed counterfeit bills (a $50 and $100), police began an area search. Beach patrol spotted the suspect and Peter Charles Powley, 55, Huntington Beach, was detained and later arrested for passing counterfeit bills and commercial burglary - both felony charges.
N. Coast Hwy - 1200 Block Public Intoxication 8:03 p.m. A man with no fixed address, Jeffrey Carmichael, 49, was arrested for public intoxication.
Thursday - July 10 Glenneyre - 600 Block Public Intoxication 11:32 a.m. Ronald Ronneburger, 51, no fixed address, was taken to jail for public intoxication.
Coast Hwy & Wesley Drive Felony Arrests 5:13 p.m. A downtown store employee called police to report that a couple that had used a stolen credit card there last week had just returned and left the store. The caller provided a description of the two and the car they were driving. A patrol unit made a stop of the vehicle in the south end where Ali Ghafouri, 35, San Diego, and Spring Valley resident Consuelo R. Jenson, 38, were detained as police searched the pair and their car. From numerous items with sales tags, purses, cell phones, credit cards, etc., found, police determined that the pair had used one card to make purchases in town and had broken into four vehicles at various locations. They both were charged with burglary, grand theft, theft from a public utility and criminal conspiracy - all felonies.
S. Coast Hwy & Cleo Street Warrant Arrest 10:52 p.m. Eleeshera Ruth Lew, 19, Dana Point, was held for a Harbor Court warrant with charges of child endangerment and DUI stemming from an arrest here in late January.
Friday - July 11 Forest Avenue - 200 Block Burglary, commercial 5:49 a.m. Police received a 9-1-1 cell call reporting a smashed window and muffled burglary alarm at an optical store. Police received a call from the alarm company a short time later. The suspect(s) were able to grab several pairs of both designer sunglasses and eyeglasses and run in less than a minute. The owner valued the losses at $50,000.
Fairview Street - 100 Block Vandalism 11 a.m. A rock was thrown through a window.
S. Coast Hwy - 600 Block Petty Theft 11:10 a.m. A backpack was stolen.
S. Coast Hwy - 1200 Block Shoplifting 2:54 p.m. Police were unable to locate a couple that took items from a store that had been hidden in a "big black purse".
Broadway Bus Depot Warrant Arrest 9:15 p.m. Officers took Edward P. Nixon, 56, no fixed address, into custody on a civil contempt of court warrant with $25K bail.
Ocean Avenue - 200 Block Animal Cruelty 10:02 p.m. A caller reported that a man was beating a pit bull in the street. On scene, officers took the dog away from its owner, Mark Lowell Ponsness, 36, Laguna Beach, and arrested him for animal cruelty. Police said the pit bull was handed over to a friend of the suspect.
Saturday - July 12 West Street Beach Public Intoxication 1:43 a.m. A disturbance call on the sand resulted in the arrest of Pasadena resident Alexander Robert Rafferty, 18, for 647F.
N. Coast Hwy & Calliope Street Public Intoxication 2 a.m. Joseph Horvath, 33, Menifee, was arrested for 647F.
Mystic Way - 500 Block Grand Theft 9:39 a.m. Items were taken from an unlocked car overnight.
N. Coast Hwy - 1000 Block Felony Vandalism 11:49 a.m. A business discovered that an outside flowerpot valued at $1500 had been broken overnight.
Glenneyre - 300 Block Burglary, commercial 12:19 p.m. $1600 was missing from a safe in a business office.
Glenneyre & Bluebird Canyon Drive Warrant Arrest 2:33 p.m. Wants and warrants checked during a traffic stop led to the arrest of Gregory Alan Wheeler, 35, for a traffic warrant issued by the LA Sheriff's office in Norwalk with bail of $26,000.
Coast Hwy & Wesley Drive Public Intoxication 7:57 p.m. Coleman Forrest Matherson, 20, of Coto De Caza, was arrested for public intoxication.
Catalina & Cress Street Vandalism 10:18 p.m. A male in a small car was seen throwing a rock through the windshield of a parked car.
Sunday - July 13 S. Coast Hwy & Legion Street Public Intoxication x 2 2:15 a.m. Josephy Henry Pinon, Jr., 25, of Ladera Ranch, and Megan Marie Becerra, 23, San Juan Capistrano, were arrested for public intoxication when a passing officer saw the couple in the act of beginning private contact.
Moss Street - 200 Block Burglary, residential 8:30 a.m. When a resident discovered that antiques had been stolen, police were provided with a named suspect.
Loretta Drive - 600 Block Burglary, residential 11:44 a.m. A Realtor discovered that suspects had cut and removed a screen to enter a home. Empty alcohol bottles were left behind.
