A Laguna officer returning from an OC Jail transport made the car stop. Police said the officer saw Guizon's car weaving across
several freeway lanes.
DUI Checkpoint Arrests
Coast Hwy & Blue Lagoon Police conducted a DUI and driver's license checkpoint from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes. Police said 1502 vehicles passed through and 644 of those were stopped and given educational materials. 11 field sobriety tests were administered and five drivers were arrested for driving under the influence:

Incident Reports:
Monday - December 22
Cliff Drive - 400 Block Battery 12:56 a.m. A man walking through Heisler Park encountered a man whom he had met previously. He explained to police that he "… didn't feel like talking with…[the other guy]." That apparently made the second man angry enough to punch the victim in the face. Police said the victim ran to his car and drove himself to the police station. A witness had already called police about the incident who's seen the suspect jump into a car and take off. Police said detectives are actively working the case.
Cozumel - 200 Block Burglary, vehicle 9:26 a.m. A workbag containing microscope equipment was taken from a vehicle broken into overnight. The loss is valued at $4000.
Cypress Drive - 300 Block Fraud 11:46 a.m. A credit card was used without authorization.
Laguna Canyon Road - 2700 Block Burglary, vehicle 12:32 p.m. A woman's wallet with credit cards was stolen from a car parked in an underground lot all morning. The passenger window was smashed for access.
Eagle Rock Way - 31900 Block Fraud 2:26 p.m. The RP learned that unauthorized charges were made on a credit card account.
S. Coast Hwy - 1700 Block Fraud; ID Theft 5:55 p.m. Someone used the RP's personal info to open a credit card account at Kohl's last month and charged $435.
Forest Avenue - 300 Block Burglary, vehicle 7:05 p.m. The passenger side window of a blue Mini Cooper was smashed by someone who took items totaling $300 in value.
Tuesday - December 23
Cresta Way - 3000 Block Drugs 12:23 p.m. See if the term "stupid criminal" comes to mind as you read this. Police received a call from a resident explaining that a car had been parked on the street about 20 minutes without turning off the headlamps. The caller added that no one had gotten out of the car. Officers arrived and found Laguna Niguel resident Reign Robert Kahn-Johnson, 19, sleeping in the car. He was awakened and the cops told him they smelled marijuana. He told them where it was and police took possession of 100 grams of pot. He also had a small amount of hashish. He was arrested for felony possession of marijuana for sales and felony possession of hash. When he was booked, police ran the serial number of a Pierre Cardin watch he had worn and learned that it had been stolen during a robbery in LA. A felony charge of possession of stolen property was added.
Wednesday - December 24
High Drive & Hill Street Drugs 1:28 a.m. Police received a call from Thomas Patrick Schofield, 34, Laguna Beach who, according to police, said he was high on methamphetamine and was walking down the hill. Police found him on Broadway and arrested him for felony possession of a controlled substance (two grams of meth).

Friday - December 26
Coast Hwy - 30800 Block Grand Theft 1:25 p.m. A painting valued at $6800 was stolen from a gallery.
Glenneyre - 1800 Block No Bail Warrant Arrest 2:15 p.m. The ID of a passenger was checked as part of normal protocol as the driver was being arrested for DUI (see above). A no bail warrant was associated with Jason Motis, 41, Costa Mesa. The Department of Justice wanted him arrested for parole violation.
Forest Avenue - 200 Block Vandalism 2:58 p.m. The owner of a business called 9-1-1 reporting that a skateboarder had just crashed into and smashed the front window. The skateboarder skated away immediately.
Albertsons Market Battery 4:57 p.m. Officers went to the market after a report that a checker had been punched in the tummy by a woman. On scene, the woman explained to police that a crab cake she'd purchased "… was poisonous…[and] the CIA did it." The checker signed a citizen's arrest complaint and police took Lompoc resident Bette Marie Bjorkman, 62, into custody for battery.
Saturday - December 27
S. Coast Hwy & Thalia Street Warrant Arrest 10:16 a.m. Bunnie Leighann Garcia, 31, Huntington Beach, was arrested during a traffic stop for a North Court DUI warrant.
Keller Way - 1100 Block Drug Arrest 11:48 a.m. Police went to a house after the father of an 18-year-old woman asked for a welfare check. He had reported her missing and learned she may be with her boyfriend here. Police knew the boyfriend was on formal probation and searched the house. A syringe loaded with heroin was found and Ryan Bright, 22, was arrested for felony possession of heroin. The woman, an adult, was in the residence and her father was notified.
Carmelita Street - 1400 Block Vandalism, vehicle 1:45 p.m. For a second time, someone keyed a 2008 BMW.
Three Arch Bay (S. LaSenda) Fraud; Grand Theft 6:22 p.m. The RP's bank account was accessed by an unknown suspect who managed to steal $10,000.
Cypress Drive - 300 Block Fraud 10:12 p.m. Unauthorized credit card charges were made in LA and Fontana totaling $450.
Sunday - December 28
S. Coast Hwy & Cardinal Drive Warrants; Curfew Violations 1:09 a.m. Officers from the DUI checkpoint chased down a Honda Civic that had been traveling northbound on Coast Hwy at high speed. The driver, Marcus Dante Cash, 20, San Juan Capistrano, was arrested for DUI. A female passenger was bleeding from the nose and medics were called. She was taken to South Coast Medical Center. She had apparently fallen on a staircase. Other passengers told police that they were taking her to the hospital (which they had already passed). Richard Joseph Solorio, Jr, San Juan Capistrano, was arrested for four outstanding warrants. A Harbor Court want with $15,000 bail had a charge of petty theft. Two of three Harbor Court Laguna Hills warrants had charges of FTA possession of under an ounce of marijuana and a third was for FTA minor in possession of alcohol. Three male juvenile passengers, two, age 16, from Laguna Niguel and a 15-year-old from Dana Point were issued a citation for curfew violation before being released to their parents. Police said one of the juveniles was found in the car's trunk.
Cliff Drive - 300 Block Grand Theft 12:52 p.m. A woman came to the police station to report that her wallet had been stolen. She said she'd been in the restroom at Las Brisas and had left her wallet inside. When she realized it, she went back and it wasn't there. The wallet contained $415 in cash, a check for $1200 and credit cards.
Mystic Lane - 500 Block Burglary, residential 6:45 p.m. A laptop and power tools were taken out of the garage.
