The city is butchering downtown ficus trees
Editor: Has anyone else noticed our once beautiful ficus trees have been butchered again by the city? Instead of gorgeous green canopies that provide much needed shade and incalculable allure downtown, we have trunks sporting butchered stumps and seriously distressed trees. Full Story
Lagunans rose to assure adopt-a-family was a success

It's wonderful…
Editor: It's wonderful when something comes together just so, like now. The liberal wackos of the ACLU are suing the liberal wackos of Laguna Beach for Laguna's failure to provide adequate free shelter for what used to be called "bums." Today, there is a more politically correct euphemism for drug addiction, alcoholism, and attendant vagrancy. Full Story

Hey Cox and other cable guys, wake up
Editor: I see in the Register that all three local cable TV service providers are planning fee increases. What part of the word "Depression" don't these outfits understand? People out of work, taking wage cuts, many businesses losing money even shutting down, and inefficient governments increasing fees and taxes; but these guys want to increase TV fees. Full Story
She's 114 and she's living in LA
Editor: First it was the oldest woman in America who died at 115. Then it was the oldest man who died at 112. Who is killing off the oldest people in America? Isn't it the person who has the most to gain when an older rival is eliminated? Who else but the second oldest person? Full Story
