Monday - January 12

Glenneyre - 1900 Block Burglary, vehicle 9:38 a.m. Miscellaneous electronics and tools were stolen out of a Ford Explorer that was broken into overnight.

Coast Hwy & Wesley Drive False Information 3:28 p.m. A driver tried to convince an officer that he was another person during a traffic stop. It was soon learned that Ronald James Johnson, 24, Littleton, CO, didn't have a driver's license. He was arrested for driving without a license and providing a police officer with false information.

Oriole Drive & Flamingo Road Juveniles 5:49 p.m. A resident called police about an occupied parked SUV, which had been there for sometime. On scene, a 15-year-old boy from Laguna Beach was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and released to a parent. Three other juvenile boys were sent along their way without any charges.

Terry Road - 2800 Block Burglary, residential 5:49 p.m. At some point during the day, someone made off with two glass vases and a music box.

Nyes Place - 100 Block Public Intoxication 7:27 p.m. Pablo Marciel Gomez, 21, San Clemente, was arrested for public intoxication.

Tuesday - January 13

Solana Way - 2700 Block Petty Theft 8:45 a.m. An iPod was taken from an unlocked vehicle overnight. The unknown suspect left a bottle of UV Blue-Raspberry vodka inside the vehicle.

Alta Laguna Blvd - 3100 Block Credit Card Fraud 2:42 p.m. An unknown person used the RP's Citibank credit card without authorization.

Wednesday - January 14

Monument Point Parole Violation + 2:06 a.m. Officers responded to the beach below the flagpole after a passerby reported hearing several individuals "yelling". Officers encountered eight people on the beach and order was restored without incident. All were checked for wants and warrants and five, who were under 18, were taken to the police station for pickup by their parents. A Garden Grove man, Thieu Duong, 25, was held without bail for a parole violation warrant.

Gaviota Drive - 1100 Block Petty Theft 10:05 a.m. A purse was taken from an unlocked car overnight.

Three Arch Bay (S. La Senda) Petty Theft 2:18 p.m. A sweatshirt and CDs were taken from a white BMW. The RP provided info about a possible named suspect. Santa Cruz Street - 1500 Block Felony Criminal Threats 7:05 p.m. A resident called police after an encounter with a man who said he was soliciting magazine subscriptions. The RP was concerned because there is a locked gate for security at the street and the man hadn't buzzed to gain entry. According to police, the RP felt the stranger had jumped the gate and added that after the two had exchanged words, the visitor told him as he was leaving that he had a gun and would "…blow him away…" An hour later, a patrol officer saw a man on Bluebird near Coast Hwy that matched the RP's description. The RP and another person were taken to the location and both positively identified the suspect. Preston Craig, 25 of Salem, NC, was charged with felony criminal threats.

Thursday - January 15

S. Coast Hwy - 2000 Block Felony Vandalism 9:50 a.m. Graffiti was etched into the front window of a business.

Police Station Fraud; Grand Theft 6:39 p.m. Police said "…and elderly female…" from Laguna Beach had been flimflammed out of $10,000, which she'd withdrawn from her bank downtown. The woman had met a welldressed couple in a parking lot after shopping in Irvine. Police said the man had presented an "elaborate scheme" about having inherited a significant amount of money that required him to send $10,000 in cash to Africa as a show of good faith. He offered the victim a large return for her help and rode to Laguna with her so that she could go to the bank. She handed over the cash and waited in her car for their return from wiring the funds.

Friday - January 16

S. Coast Hwy & Brooks Street Drugs + DUI 1:54 a.m. When Michelle Hickler, 28, was being searched after an arrest for DUI, a quantity of Vicodin was allegedly found and she was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Broadway - 200 Block Warrant Arrest 4:46 p.m. Colorado Springs resident Shawn Patrick Sullivan, 47, was arrested during a traffic stop for a Harbor Court warrant with a charge of FTA DUI.

Saturday - January 17

Main Beach Grand Theft 11:45 a.m. A camera and a wallet were missing when the RP returned to the spot on the sand where they had been left.

Whole Foods Market Petty Theft 12:54 p.m. A wallet was taken from a shopping cart.

Grandview Street - 200 Block Fraud; ID Theft 3 p.m. An unknown suspect used the RP's personal information to open new credit accounts.

Camel Point Beach Battery 7:27 p.m. Nearby residents called 9-1-1 reporting finding two different men that had been injured in a fight. Police said the two men were in a relationship and that both "…claimed to have been attacked by an unknown male assailant." Both victims were taken to the hospital. The case is being investigated further.

Sunday - January 18

Mountain Road - 200 Block Battery 12:26 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a fight. After things were sorted through, Dumitru Laxson, 22, Dana Point, was arrested for battery.

St. Ann's Drive & Fen Way Burglary, vehicle 8:08 a.m. A door lock was punched to gain access to a purse.

Oak Street - 200 Block Warrant Arrest 10:58 a.m. Brenden Christian Hexberg, 20, was arrested on a Harbor Court warrant for FTA minor with a false ID.

N. Coast Hwy - 1000 Block Drugs; Probation Violation 11:34 a.m. An officer made contact with a man on foot for a minor violation. When his ID was checked, it was learned that Los Angeles resident Cedric Kevin Leaks, 44, was on probation. As protocol requires, his probation officer was notified of the contact and ordered Leaks to be held for probation violation without bail. A probation search of his person and nearby motel room turned up quantities of more than one type of controlled meds. He was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Cress Street Beach Drugs 9:39 p.m. An officer's attention was drawn to the beach when he smelled the unmistakable odor of burning marijuana. Two men were questioned and one had both marijuana and hashish in his possession. Santa Ana resident Gilbert Reveles, Jr., 21, was taken into custody for felony drug possession.
