A driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol on Sunday plowed into a corner photo studio, blocking southbound traffic and remodeling a studio showcase. A Battle of Wills Over Parking

Steven Thomas Singer, 56, of Laguna Beach was charged with assault for allegedly driving his vehicle into a woman who refused to yield a parking space on Forest Avenue at 7 p.m., peak dinner hour on Saturday, according to police.

The victim was attempting to hold an open parking space on Forest Avenue while her husband circled around the block.

"In the meantime, the suspect pulled into the spot. She wouldn't move, so he began inching forward into the space. He continued moving forward until he bumped her on the left leg," police Sgt. Jason Kravetz said.

The driver parked in the space and ran into Pomodoro's, and a minute later drove away, said police, who were able to locate the suspect.

"We called him and asked for him to come back to the scene," Kravetz explained. "He did and we ended up arresting him for assault with a deadly weapon."

The woman had no visible injuries, just a complaint of pain in her leg, police said.

Monday, May 4

9-16 p.m. Myrtle St. and Heisler Park - Medical. A 41-year-old man near the BBQ pits fell down the stairs, injuring himself. He was conscious and breathing, but needed medical attention.

10:53 p.m. 100 Block and South Coast Highway - Traffic Stop. Joshua Wagner, 20, of Redondo Beach was cited for alleged marijuana possession and an outstanding $30,000 business and professions code warrant from Los Angeles County for his arrest. Police stopped him after he rode a bike across Coast Highway in a crosswalk after the red hand warning.

Tuesday, May 5

10:55 a.m. 625 Park Avenue at Laguna Beach High School. Police took a student under the influence to South Coast Medical Center.

1:50 p.m. 31597T Bluff Drive at Tablerock Beach - Possession. Whittier resident Ryan Catino, 18, and Arizona resident Rachel Campbell, 19, were both cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

3:46 p.m. Coast Highway and 10th Avenue - Traffic Collision - Injury. Two vehicles were involved in an injury collision, which blocked southbound traffic.

8:15 p.m. Cleo Street and South Coast Highway - Suspicious. Lake Forest resident, Curtis Sandgren, 45, was allegedly in possession of marijuana and cited.

Wednesday, May 6

12:11 a.m. Broadway Street and Beach Street - DUI. During a traffic stop, Florida resident Martin Blank, 59, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a controlled substance. He was cited for both.

2:33 a.m. 1000 South Coast Highway - Traffic Stop. Irvine resident Shayde Stover, 18, was cited for suspicion of DUI.

4:24 a.m. 2700 block and Victoria Drive - Suspicious. Gonzalo Velasquez, 27, of Laguna Niguel was arrested for allegedly possessing burglary tools and auto burglary. A witness reported a suspicious man leaving his car and trying to gain entry into his neighbor's SUV.

2:09 p.m. Laguna Canyon Road and Canyon Acres - Traffic Collision. A driver's vehicle ended up facing the wrong direction in oncoming traffic after hitting a tree. While the driver was uninjured, a city tree and sign were damaged.

3:49 p.m. 31597T Bluff Drive and Tablerock Beach - Foot Patrol. Foot patrol officers found 18-year-old Lake Forest residents Jeffery Davis and Travis Dedoya allegedly in possession of marijuana and alcohol.

Thursday, May 7

6:44 a.m. St. Tropez Apartments - Warrant. Ryan Tyler Bright and Jensen Gray, both 23-year-old Laguna Beach residents, were charged with misdemeanor possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Bright was also held on a no-bail probation warrant. Officers went to the apartment because they had information that a wanted probationer was there, said Sgt. Jason Kravetz.

11:20 p.m. Beach Street and Broadway Street - Traffic Stop. Laguna Beach resident Alexandra DiCaprio, 20, was allegedly driving under the influence and cited with a DUI.

Friday, May 8

1:13 a.m. 400 Block and Nyes Place - DUI. Sean St. Louis, 21, of Nuevo was cited for alleged DUI.

7:32 a.m. North Coast Highway at Irvine Cove - Traffic Stop. Keith Russell, 29, of Laguna Beach was allegedly in possession of marijuana and cited.

11:03 a.m. Baja Street and Del Mar Avenue - Traffic Stop. Corona del Mar resident Wesley Dans, 20, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and cited.

11:41 a.m. 700 South Coast Highway at Ralph's - Traffic Stop. Passenger Dominic Edward Cateriano, 21, of Brea was cited for allegedly possessing less than one ounce of marijuana.

11:06 p.m. 700 South Coast Highway at Ralph's - Petty Theft. Santa Ana resident Wais Rahmani, 37, allegedly grabbed a 12-pack of Miller Light and high tailed it. Witnesses said he was wearing a blue hat, t-shirt and shorts and headed toward the Holiday Inn. He was arrested for allegedly committing petty theft.

12:05 a.m. 20652 Laguna Canyon Road at the Bark Park - DUI. Las Flores resident Alison Brown, 31, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for DUI.

1:34 a.m. 30781 South Coast Highway at Blue Lagoon - Traffic Stop. Bryan McKernan, 21, of Laguna Niguel was allegedly found to be under the influence and cited with a DUI. Passenger Eric Morales, 22, also from Laguna Niguel, was cited for allegedly being in possession of marijuana.

2 a.m. Thalia Street and South Coast Highway - DUI. Laguna Beach resident John Garber, 33, was allegedly driving under the influence and charged with a DUI.

1:53 p.m. 2695 Laguna Canyon Road - DUI - Drugs. Andrew Charles Bowyer, 29, of Aliso Viejo, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, possessing forged prescriptions and a parole violation. Witnesses reported a swerving car that stopped in the center turn lane.

"We arrived in the area and found the suspect's vehicle at a dead stop. We tried to wake the guy up because he was passed out behind the wheel with the engine running and the car in drive," said Kravetz.

4:17 p.m. Wesley Drive and South Coast Highway - Traffic Stop. During a traffic stop and a subsequent vehicle search, officers allegedly found marijuana and cited Huntington Beach resident Lance Lavage, 18, for possession.

9:15 p.m. South Coast Highway and Brooks Street - DUI. Jennifer Safaian, 34, of Laguna Beach was allegedly driving under the influence and cited with a DUI.

10:49 p.m. Park Aveune and Alta Laguna Blvd - DUI. Oren Atias, 18, of Costa Mesa, was driving under the influence and cited with a DUI.

Sunday, May 10

1:58 a.m. 600 Block and Laguna Canyon Road - Traffic Stop. Jennifer Jackson, 31, of Lake Forest was allegedly found to be driving under the influence. She was cited with a DUI.

7:56 p.m. Diamond Street and South Coast Highway - Traffic Collision. Costa Mesa resident Daniel Vargas, 27, was allegedly found to be under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance. The collision blocked southbound lanes on Coast Highway.

8:15 p.m. Cleo Street and South Coast Highway - Suspicious. Lake Forest resident, Curtis Sandgren, 45, was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and cited.
