Checkpoint Snags a Score of Alleged Violators
Eight people were arrested for driving under the influence and another 14 were caught driving with restricted licenses at a checkpoint targeting southbound Coast Highway drivers late last Friday, police said.
Between 9 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., 2,032 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. About a third were stopped. Fourteen drivers were administered field sobriety tests and eight were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driving status of another 31 drivers was checked and 14 were found be unlicensed or driving on a restricted license, said Sgt. Bob Rahaeuser.

1000 Hillcrest, June 24, 1:35 p.m., Stacy Marie Wacker, 38, of Laguna Beach, arrested for allegedly DUI.
30600 Coast Highway, June 26, 9:43 p.m., Armand Daniel Begay, 18, arrested for allegedly DUI and marijuana possession.

Hinkle & Coast Highway, 12:17 a.m., Erinn Elise Johnson, 36, arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
North Coast Highway at Jasmine Street, 12:59 a.m., Bradford Chamberlin, 24, of Irvine, was arrested for allegedly DUI.
Checkpoint, 1:18 a.m., James Andrew Polster, 54, of Laguna Niguel, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Checkpoint, 1:41 a.m., Casey Clinton Davis, 33, of Laguna Beach, arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Checkpoint, 2:02 a.m., Barbara Sue Blade, 27, of Corona, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Checkpoint, 2:11 a.m., Scott Mc- Courtney, 28, Laguna Niguel, was arrested for suspicion of driving drunk.
Montage at Coast Highway, 2:49 a.m., Peter Anthony Ferrara, 40, of Dana Point, was arrested for allegedly DUI.
700 block S. Coast Highway, 7:58 a.m., Jordan Ryan Landsburg, 22, of Newport Beach, was arrested for DUI and high blood alcohol. Bail was set at $15,000.
Laguna Canyon Road at Dog Park, June 28, 11:36 a.m. Michael Anthony Donnell, 24, of Mission Viejo, was arrested for DUI. Due to two prior offenses bail was set at $15,000.

400 block of Coast Highway, 11:13 p.m., Assault. A victim reports a bar bouncer dislocated his arm.
Irvine Bowl, 1:45 p.m., Vandalism. The straps holding the nets at the tennis court were cut.
Tuesday, June 23
Oak Street Beach, 1:17 p.m., Drug paraphernalia. Garrett Gardner, 24, was arrested for alleged possessing drug paraphernalia.
Coast Highway at Diamond Street, 11:14 p.m., Traffic Stop. Rachel Elizabeth Randall, 20, of Newport Beach, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Cozumel Avenue, 11:31 p.m., Threatening Harm. Jason Kottak, 32, of Laguna Beach was arrested for allegedly threatening a neighbor and trespassing after an altercation. He was held for $50,000 bail.
Wednesda y, June 24
Vista del Sol and Coast Highway, 5:46 p.m., Traffic Stop. Police found ecstasy pills in a vehicle occupied by five male teens, all from San Clemente, three of whom were detained for possession of a controlled substance, police said. Two others were released to their parents.

Legion and Catalina Streets, 12:10 a.m., Vandalism. Tires slashed on a parked vehicle.
300 Myrtle Street, 7:22 a.m., Drug arrest. Laguna Beach residents Scott Thomas Landmon, 51, was arrested and cited for an outstanding warrant for allegedly being under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, and John William Weitz, 38, cited for allegedly possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.
El Camino Del Mar and El Bosque, 2:30 p.m. Suspicious activity. A resident reported spotting an uninvited man leaving the garage of his home. Police are unable to locate the trespasser.
300 block of St. Tropez, 3:58 p.m., Jensen Gray, 24, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for a parole violation when police assisting parole officers found narcotic paraphernalia and a pill without a prescription at his home.

Cress Street Beach, 2:31 a.m., Indecent Exposure. A couple having sex on a bench advised to go elsewhere.
600 block Temple Hills Drive, 5:41 p.m., Vehicle Burglary. Thieves took a cellphone and Gucci binder valued at $3,900 from an unlocked car.
1300 block Dunning Drive, 6:25 p.m., Trespassing. A neighbor reports transients frequenting an unoccupied home. Police find no one there.
Saturda y, June 27
31000 block Second Avenue, 4:18 p.m., Bee swarm. Police advised contacting a bee keeper.
300 block N. Coast Highway, 5 p.m., Grand Theft. Two artworks valued at $6,000 were stolen from a gallery.
Vista Del Sol and Coast Highway, 10 p.m., Traffic Stop. Marcello Luigi Mauri, 30, of Laguna Beach was arrested for a warrant outstanding for a speeding ticket.
Sunda y, June 28
600 Sleepy Hallow Lane, 1:20 p.m., Injury. A woman suffered abrasions to her elbow and knee after being accidentally hit by a vehicle driven by a valet.
Coast Highway and West Street, 4:28 p.m., Vandalism. Someone threw a rock at a car windshield. Police are unable to locate suspects.
ACT V lot, 10:25 p.m., Indecent Exposure. Laguna Beach transient Eli Lopicoccola, 37, was arrested for allegedly exposing himself while on the trolley.
