Treehouse Seeks Volunteers to Spend a Day at the Races
The Laguna Beach-based nonprofit organization Tony's Treehouse is rallying "people power" for the Illumination Foundation's "Race for the Homeless" fundraiser, which will be held at the Los Alamitos Race Track on July 11. Volunteers are needed at the race track to help set up for the event, and its silent auction and raffle areas, from 11 a.m. until about 5 p.m. Full Story

Thrift Shop Holds Summer Clearance
The Assistance League Laguna Beach will have its annual "Summer Blow Out Sale" in the Turnabout Shop, at 526 Glenneyre, beginning July 7. For 10 days through July 18, everything in the Turnabout Shop will be half price. Bag sales, where whatever can fit in a bag costs $5, begin July 21. A bag costs progressively less through July 25, when they go for $1 each. Full Story

Laguna Beach residents Bob McKnight of Quicksilver and film producer Greg MacGillivray are featured in Sky, the July edition of Delta Air Lines' onboard magazine. The story is an account of McKnight and MacGillivray's early days and how their successful businesses. Full Story
Boys Club Artist Earns National Recognition
A member of the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, six-yearold Kenneth Chu, is one of 36 member artists from club across the country whose work has been chosen for a national exhibit. Selected from more than 252 finalists, Chu's work, "Under Water Robot," won in the print-making category for his age group and will travel with the exhibit on a nationwide tour. Full Story
