Tennis Classes Offer 'Net' Gains for All Ages

Summer Cardio Tennis

Register now for weekly Summer Cardio Tennis classes being held weekly through July 22. The class provides an energizing cardio workout that will improve fitness level with the added benefit of drill practice. Players will consistently elevate their heart rates in their aerobic training zone and have much more fun than working out on a machine, with short cycles of high intensity workouts and periods of rest, almost like interval training. Tennis and Swim Camp

New to Laguna Beach, Champions for Life Tennis & Swim Camp is being offered weekly through July 30 by camp director Julie Heussenstamm, USPTA teaching pro.

Held at Alta Laguna Park, the camp welcomes kids aged five to 12 and includes tennis lessons, activities and lunch, followed by a bus trip to the pool at Laguna Beach High School to round out the day. Campers will be supervised at all times.

Beginning players will enjoy learning tennis using the Quickstart method - the latest innovation in tennis teaching. Intermediate players will work on strokes, strategy and point play. Sign up at www.allcourttennis.com.

Tennis Workouts for Tournament Players

All Court Tennis is currently accepting registration for summer tennis workouts for junior tournament players to work on advanced technique, fitness and conditioning, mental toughness and match strategy. Classes will be held at Alta Laguna Park and include Junior Competitors for intermediate level players; Tournament Training for advanced level players; Junior Cardio Tennis, which is a fast-paced footwork and fitness class for both intermediate and advance players; and Junior Team Prep, for players starting out in team or USTA satellite competition.
