Ray S. Collins

Ray Collins Ray S. Collins, born July 4, 1912, died peacefully in his home in Laguna Beach on Aug. 24, at the age of 97.

A California native, Collins was born in Watts and moved to Laguna Beach in 1947. After many years as a local businessman, he left the business world to become a marine engineer for the last 20 years of his career. He retired at 75 and enjoyed life by the sea and on land, working in the diverse Southern California fields alongside many friends.

Collins is survived by his son, Bill Collins and his wife Lori; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He will be remembered by countless friends and will be missed.
