Instructor Dona Harman of Strands and Stitches will teach participants to knit "heartwarming" cap Concepts that will be covered include casting on, knitting in the round, decreasing stitches, and how to problem solve. Laguna Welcomes New Doctor
Laguna Beach resident Brian P. Riff was one of 256 graduates to receive a doctor of medicine degree in May from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Penn. Volunteers Needed to Reach the Finish Line
The Susan G. Komen Orange County affiliate is calling for more than 1,300 volunteers for this year's 2009 Orange County Race for the Cure, to be held Sunday, Sept. 27, at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. To help people establish a new business in Laguna Beach, the City Council has created a task force to meet with prospective business people and to help them navigate the city's approval process. SeaChange Event Reels In $900,000 for Oceana
The second annual SeaChange Summer Party held on Aug. 22 was attended by 400 and raised nearly $900,000, through ticket sales and auctions, to benefit the ocean conservation group Oceana. Fitness Studio Is 'Certifiably' Green
Grand opening, Sept. 12
Code Green Fitness in Laguna Beach will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, to celebrate becoming a "certified" greenbusiness, says president and founder Ryan Kollock.
