Man Dies Biking El Moro Trails
Steven Hedrick, 56, of Costa Mesa, died after suffering cardiac arrest on Sunday while mountain biking on a trail in El Moro Canyon, at Crystal Cove State Park. His friends called 911 and performed CPR until medics arrived and took over. He was flown by a Mercy Air helicopter to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, and was pronounced dead on arrival. Crash Nearly Kills Woman
Matthew Craybas crashed a silver 2004 BMW X3 into a concrete barrier in front of BJ's Restaurant in downtown Laguna Beach, causing the SUV to roll over and come to rest on its side. A 38 year old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle through the sunroof, sustained severe head injuries and was transported to Mission Hospital trauma center in Mission Viejo. Full Story
Requests for Pot Shops Kicked to Curb
The City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Tuesday night that prohibits medicinal marijuana dispensaries within city limits. The possibility of increasing sales tax revenue for the city was not mentioned. Full Story
