Kudos for Kramer
Editor,
I read Amy Kramer’s column on “Entitlement” (Oct. 2) and clapped and cheered at the end of it.
All can say is, “way to go girl!” Keep up the fight!

Appreciation for a 'village treasure’
Editor,
I can’t think of anyone I know, including myself, who is as balanced, intelligent, and humane as our village treasure, Ann Christoph. Full Story
A Divisive Omission
Editor,
A pamphlet by Laguna Greenbelt circulated at the Laguna Canyon Conservancy dinner earlier this month listed the accomplishments that have resulted in the creation of the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. Sadly missing from this list of accomplishments were the contributions of the Laguna Beach County Water District in creating this magnificent park. Full Story
Allowing Material Values to Trump Human Ones
Editor,
The viewpoints and opinions of people I am assuming are on the political right regarding the homeless in Laguna Beach strike me as outrageous and ludicrous.
Three recent expressions of fear, anger and greed printed in this newspaper stood out. Full Story
Fight the ACLU
Editor,
I attended the council meeting on the homeless on Oct. 6. The decision to vote for the shelter is understandable but unfortunate. It was a way to reinstate the no camping ordinance quickly. Now that that is over, please consider the long-term effects of this shelter. Full Story
Call to Action Over Proposed Beach Curfew
Editor,
It is abundantly clear from the Indy poll and last week’s City Council meeting that the people have spoken and equally clear that once again our elected representatives have chosen to ignore us. They made their decision well before the meeting on Tuesday, and nobody should be fooled. Full Story
Cowards at City Hall
Editor,
I’m not going to be nicey nice about this. I’m not going to blame this on the economy or prejudice. I blame the cowardice of Ken Frank and the City Council dwarves for the invasion of our parks and beaches by mental cases, drunks and piss pant derelicts. Full Story
Homes, Not Shelters, is the Solution
Editor:
I’ve lived in Laguna Beach since the early 1980s and I have raised two children here. This is the first time I had issues I felt I needed to write your progressive Laguna newspaper. Full Story
Root Cause
Editor,
I am not concerned with the general problem of homelessness and don’t think Laguna Beach should be either. I am concerned with why homeless people select Laguna Beach. Full Story
Accountability Over Asylum Closures
Editor, There have been a couple of letters recently that attributed the homeless situation to President Reagan’s policies. Full Story
A Canine’s Perspective
Editor,
My species seldom has a voice on matters of importance in Laguna Beach. I hope the editor acknowledges us by publishing this letter. As an astute canine I am bright, articulate and handsome. I know that because my Dad, Bob, often says, “Shadow is the best-looking dog in Laguna Beach.” Full Story
Say ‘No’ to Swine Flu Vaccine
Editor,
As a parent of young children in Laguna Beach, though not in the school district, I am appalled to learn that the state Health and Human Services Department plans to establish clinics in public schools to ensure our kids are vaccinated and “protected” against the so-called second wave of swine flu effects.
