Abstract Nature Artist Sees Birches
Painter Michael Kessler, known for his renderings of abstract nature beneath glossy finishes, will have a solo exhibition and reception at the Art Cube Gallery from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5. Two Acting Veterans Take a Bow
At age 89, the Laguna Playhouse and veteran actress Ann Rutherford are both remarkably spry. Last Thursday they jointly celebrated their birthdays, replete with a cake and the theater audience and cast singing “Happy Birthday.” Rutherford was born on Nov. 2, 1920, but no one quibbled about the exact date. Orange County residents are invited to audition for CHOC Follies XIII: “The Wizard of OC,” the annual fundraiser for Children’s Hospital of Orange County put on by the CHOC Children’s Foundation.
