Instructor Dona Harman of Strands and Stitches will teach participants to knit caps for people in need, which will be donated to the Knots-of-Love Organization. Concepts that will be covered include casting on, knitting in the round, decreasing stitches, and how to problem solve. Full Story

Mission Hospital Laguna Beach is holding a Neighbor Forum from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, in the auditorium at the hospital. Laguna Team Walked the Walk for Friends and CHOC
Laguna Beach residents Steve and Susan Giusto, joined by 17 local friends, were among the thousands of supporters participating in the 19th annual CHOC Walk at Disneyland on Oct. 18. The Giustos were there to thank CHOC for the outstanding care they provided to their six-year-old daughter Cathryn, who has been treated at CHOC over the past year for a rare childhood cancer. Workshops Offered to Lure Business Start-ups
To promote business opportunities in Laguna Beach, city officials will host Open for Business workshops Nov. 3 and Dec. 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Laguna Beach Community Center, 380 Third Street.
Geared towards those interested in opening or expanding businesses in town, the workshops are being organized by the recently created business promotion task force. Full Story

Cox Hosts Club Kids
Laguna Beach Boys & Girls Club members were among over 200 kids from clubs around the county participating in an annual carnival hosted by Cox Communications outside its Rancho Santa Margarita headquarters.
Kids enjoyed carnival games, bounce houses, giant slides, rock climbing, sumo suits, a pie-eating contest, break-dancing, popcorn and cotton candy. Full Story

Amy (Myrick) Long and Ja- cob Anderson announce the birth of their son, Jaxson Lee Anderson.
Jaxson was born Sept. 4 at 2:57 a.m. at Providence Hospital in Hood River, Ore., and at birth he weighed six pounds, 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. Full Story
