Students at El Morro Elementary School are collecting coats and jackets as part of the One Warm Coat community service project. Teens Hopes Adorn Pure Light’s Tree
Ornaments containing the wishes of the teens currently living at the CSP Youth Shelter in Laguna Beach will adorn a tree set up by the Pure Light Celebrations Candle Studio in the Festival Center, next to the Sawdust Festival, 828 Laguna Canyon Road. Gratitude to Ganahl
Wolf Cub Scouts Trevor Tyler, Jeremy Leeds, John Ali, Jeremy Hayes and Andrew Johnson were treated to a special afternoon den meeting, becoming familiar with common construction tools. Besides basic tools, Ganahl’s manager and tool expert introduced cubs to heavy machinery and each received a Stanley measuring tape. Full Story
Grants Offered to Assist AIDS Victims
Nonprofit organizations serving people with HIV/AIDS in Orange County now have until Dec. 7 to apply for grants from proceeds from the 24th annual OC AIDS Walk, to be held in May 2010, which is organized by the AIDS Services Foundation Orange County (ASF). Full Story
Three-Day-A-Week Sprinkler Limit Extended
The three-day-a-week limit on sprinkler use in the South Coast Water District will remain in effect through Jan. 30. Ordinarily, during a water supply alert, sprinkler use would be limited to one day a week from November through March, but this grace period until January is being allowed because of strong customer participation in conservation efforts.
