Laguna’s Daisy Debuts at Film Fest
Filmmaker Jack Major Young filmmaker Jack Major’s 2009 documentary about the challenges faced by Laguna Beach’s Daisy Mae Blossom Messer is set to premier at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Feb. 4-14.
The challenges Messer has faced throughout her life, and the faith that shapes her optimism are clearly articulated in “Daisy” by the 2008 LBHS graduate. “Daisy is an inspiration to all of us. No one seeing this film will come away with dry eyes,” promised Major, in his second year majoring in feature film production at Santa Barbara’s Brooks Institute.
Following its premier in Santa Barbara, the film is also set for screening at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival in March, and the Peace on Earth Film Festival in Chicago, where the mission of the festival is to highlight stories similar to Daisy’s own.
