TOW’s PTA Website Keeps School Greener
Special to the Independent
The PTA of Top of the World Elementary School has launched a new website, www.towpta.org, designed, created, and implemented by a team of volunteer parents,
The new site already engendered numerous benefits to the school, students and parents, including what they refer to as “extraordinary” financial savings. When registration for TOW after school programs went online last month, the necessary distribution of 600 paper packets became obsolete. It is now possible for parents to purchase tickets to events, read the PTA newsletter, and donate or join the PTA on the website.
The PTA hopes to be fully online by the end of this school year. Peggy Wolff, president of the Top of the World PTA, said that the organization “is committed to going green and being accessible for all parents via the Internet.” She lauded the success of their first online registration and said that since the December launch, “we have already saved many reams of paper. I am really proud of our all-volunteer team that is working to make TOW PTA web friendly.”
“I am thrilled about the outcome of this exciting project,” said Top of the World’s principal, Ron La Motte, who also praised the online registration, which streamlined the process for parents and staff alike, and added, “We are so fortunate to have leaders like Peggy Wolff and Tammy Skenderian with vision and commitment to making TOW the best there is!”
