Legendary Tae Kwon Do Grandmaster Visits
Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, a martial arts legend, is scheduled to teach a special class at Cho’s Academy in Laguna Beach for children and adults at 5 p.m. on March 12 as part of the academy’s policy of hosting guest instructors and masters from around the world.
The father of Jacob Cho, co-founder of Cho’s Academy, Grandmaster Hee Il Cho has lived and breathed tae kwon do his whole life. Having lost his own father while still a child in Korea, Cho embraced tae kwon do for self defense after getting severely beaten by bullies. He focused on training, became a national champion, and trained the special forces. When he moved to the United States, he taught himself English and worked in a factory by day while teaching tae kwon do by night.
Cho has since become one of the most famous martial arts masters of our time, not only for his physical abilities and accomplishments, but also for the lessons of respect, modesty and perseverance that he shares when teaching.
Cho’s Academy is located at 1966 S. Coast Highway. To learn more about Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, visit http:// aimaa.com/grandmastercho.html,
