The City Council approved a $225,000 contract for new Main Beach playground equipment featuring a play tower resembling the historic Main Beach lifeguard tower and a concrete dolphin surfacing for riding and photo ops.
Parents who want a voice on shaping the Main Beach playground should attend an informal question-and-answer session with city staff over its replacement on Aug. 1 at 9 a.m. and Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. Sessions will be held at the Main Beach playground site. The playground is scheduled for construction in the fall.
