When the Top of the World kindergarten set out to raise funds for Irvine-based Free Wheelchair Mission, their success not only surprised the students but their teachers, too. Cops Seek Help in Nabbing Brazen Thief
A thief stole a wallet with $800 in cash from a woman celebrating her birthday at South Laguna's Ti Amo Restaurant Dec. 9 who stepped outside to smoke, police reported. The thief scooped up the wallet from the purse and shoved it under his shirt. A security video camera system inside the restaurant captured it all on tape. Full Story

Police received more than 80 calls over 90 minutes about the two-alarm structure fire at 650 Mystic View, which began about 2:35 p.m. The smoke was visible from surrounding cities. Full Story
